TRAINING
The Justice Center of Atlanta (JCA) is
a nationally recognized provider of top quality practice and
instruction in mediation and is one of the premier training
organizations in the United States. The Justice Center of Atlanta is
pleased to have been mentioned in the U.S. Government Accounting
Office report of August 1997 as being “…recognized as one of the
leading institutions in the United States for the practice and
teaching of mediation.” (See Alternative Dispute Resolution:
Employer’s Experience with ADR in the Workplace.) JCA has
led the field of training and practice in conflict resolution for
over 30 years.

We present courses through a variety of methods including: lectures
by experienced ADR professionals, video tapes, instructor
demonstrations, student participation, group projects, written
projects, homework assignments, practical skill exercises, student
proficiency demonstrations, discussions, role-play scenarios and
written evaluations. The teaching style practiced by JCA places an
emphasis on “hands-on” skill development. Instructional materials
and lectures comply with the American With Disabilities Act.

Our class size is limited because we
maintain a small student-to-teacher ratio and classes fill very
rapidly. Please register early so you are not disappointed. After
your training experience with The Justice Center of Atlanta, we
believe that you will agree that our reputation as an elegant,
professional environment in which to learn life skills and help
people resolve their problems is well-earned and justified. JCA has
always been an innovator and leader in the field of ADR and we
continue that legacy.

JCA strives to make your training experience here one of the most
professionally rewarding possible. Our services include a
self-contained training site that provides easy access to free
parking, on-site provision of continental breakfast, a fresh-daily
southern buffet lunch and snacks at no additional charge. We
accommodate special dietary needs with notification through your
registration form.
The State of
Georgia is one of a very few states in which individuals completing
the prescribed course
work can make application for registration as a mediator. JCA is an
approved training provider for this registration training and has
been since the inception of the Georgia Commission on Dispute
Resolution’s training requirements in 1994.

Many federal
employees stationed in agencies all over the country have completed
Georgia's registration requirements, thereby enhancing their current
skills and future marketability. Each person completing the
requirements is on the list of mediators approved by the Supreme
Court of Georgia's administrative arm, the Georgia Office of Dispute
Resolution (GODR). If you are interested in the specifics of
registration as a neutral/mediator, we would refer you to the GODR
website:
